Can I be honest?
There was a time in my life when I thought I was living for Jesus.
Let me explain...
I would read my bible here and there,
go to church on the "important" days(sometimes),
say a few prayers, and call it a day.
I always believed in God—
but it wasn't until I was faced with the most life-altering event that everything changed.
when my life was falling apart, I began to realize I couldn't possibly hold myself up on my own. I needed healing that nobody and nothing could give me—
except Jesus Christ himself.
I needed the living water He offered to the woman at the well,
not the one I kept trying to draw from the world.
John 4:13–14 (NLT)
Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
While it wasn't an overnight change(though it can be),
little by little the more time I spent with Jesus, the bigger the fire grew—
with every worship song,
every prayer,
every tear,
every bible verse.
Being on fire for God doesn't mean you have it all together. It just means you know the source.
Here are 3 practical ways you can "be on fire" for God:
Stay in His Presence Daily
A fire can't stay lit if there is no fuel. Spend time with God- read your bible, go to church, talk to Him out loud, sit with Him in silence. It doesn't have to look perfect— you just need to show up.
Live it Out
To know Jesus is to live like Him. Be kind to others, love everyone, serve daily, and forgive always— even when nobody is watching.
Surround Yourself With People Who Fan Your Fire
Ever heard the saying "you are who you hang out with"? It's true. When you walk with others who love Jesus, it keeps your flame strong. Find like-minded people— people who pray with you, encourage you, speak truth in love, and remind you who you are when the fire feels weak.
Being on fire for God doesn't mean you have to be perfect—
it just means your heart and life are His.
Keep showing up.
Keep denying your flesh.
God wants all of you— not just your Sundays.
