When God's Plan Doesn't Look Like Mine

Have you ever planned your whole life at the age of 15?
Where you would live, when you'd get married, how many kids you'd have.
yeah, me too.
I laugh thinking about it now.
I thought I had it all figured out.
"I'll be married by 23, have 2-3 kids by 30, live in a white farmhouse, and life would be rainbows and butterflies". Basically like a checklist for the "perfect life."
But, my reality did not look like that. I found myself living an hour and a half away from my hometown, working in a city I said I would NEVER be in, and walking through pain I never saw coming.
I have realized along the way, my plans were never falling apart-
I was never the author. I tried for so long to be the one in control. I truly thought I had it all figured out.
But, when the story didn't align with fifteen-year-old me,
I would crumble.
I see it now-
God has the pen, not me.
He didn't ask for a co-signer.
He asked for my trust.
His plans rarely look like ours. In fact they never look like ours.
But, I can promise you, they are far better than we can ever imagine.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
